Singapore inks open skies with four new countries
SINGAPORE has concluded Open Skies Agreements (OSA) with Barbados, Brazil, Jamaica and Rwanda, granting carriers full flexibility to introduce services without restrictions on capacity, frequency or routing.
The OSAs with Barbados and Jamaica are the first between Singapore and the Caribbean. Singapore has already OSAs with Latin America through Peru, Columbia and Ecuador, and an OSA with Africa through Zambia.
Direct links with Singapore will allow businesses in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean to access more markets by tapping on Singapore's connectivity to the Asia-Pacific region.
There are currently no direct flights between Singapore and Latin America or the Caribbean. In Africa, Singapore Airlines operates passenger services to Egypt and South Africa.
