More flights for Siem Reap airport in the winter

SilkAir's additional flight will bring its services from Singapore to nine a week.

China Southern Airlines will increase its Canton-Siem Reap services from two to five weekly flights. Meanwhile, Yunnan Airlines has requested for slots for daily flights between Kunming and Siem Reap.

Asiana Airlines will up its Incheon-Siem Reap flights to six a week, from the previous four. Korean Air will have 17 flights a week through eight additional services - one from Pusan and seven from Incheon.

Airport operator Société Concessionnaire des Aéroports (SCA) has held two fam trips this year for South Korean agents and media. A similar fam will be held in Japan next week to spur interest in charter or regular flights into SCA's three airports in Cambodia, including Phnom Penh International Airport and Sihanoukville Airport.

Airport manager Etienne Lefort said Siem Reap Airport International, in particular, will receive more charter flights in the winter season. This month alone, the airport will have hosted 60 charters from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and South Korea.
