Malaysian outbound agents expect good business
SOME 858 booths were sold for the three-day Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA) fair, an increase over last year's 845 booths.
The fair opens its doors today at Putra World Trade Centre.
Malaysian Harmony Tour & Travel CEO, Cooper Huang, said he expected to see positive response for long-haul travel as demand had returned since last March. He will be promoting exotic destinations such as Turkey, Egypt and Morocco as well as all of Europe.
“The euro has depreciated which makes Europe an attractive destination,” said Huang.
Another exhibitor, Apple Vacations & Conventions, will be promoting tour packages to Japan. Its group managing director Desmond Lee said he had recently signed a contract with Malaysia Airlines to facilitate three direct charter flights between Kuala Lumpur and Hokkaido for December.
