Countries relax travel advisories on Thailand
AS NORMALCY returns to Bangkok, the Swiss, Italian and Canadian governments have yesterday downgraded their travel advisories on Thailand.
The Swiss government has lowered its level-four advice against Bangkok and five other Thai provinces to a level-three advice which calls travellers to exercise great caution in all regions.
The Canadian government has also downgraded its level-four advice for travellers to avoid non-essential travel to Bangkok to a level-three advice for travellers to exercise high degree of caution in Thailand.
The Italian government has lifted its advice against Bangkok, and has told its citizens to avoid areas with large gatherings.
As of today, 47 countries are still exercising travel advisories against Thailand, although a number of them have been downgraded over the last week.
The highest level-five "do not travel" advisory is still imposed by seven countries. Travel advisories issued by Saudi Arabia, UAE, Spain and China are against Thailand while Hong Kong, Poland and Vietnam are against Bangkok.
