China Airlines seeks to expand Delta codeshare

Beginning on May 1, China Airlines adds Los Angeles-Guatemala City round trip additional codeshare route on Delta flights. Furthermore, Delta placed its code on CAL’s flights from Taipei to Chiang Mai and Penang on summer schedule. The new routes offer greater convenience to passengers traveling between Taiwan and America.

 China Airlines and Delta Air Lines inked a codeshare agreement in 2003. Beginning on May 1, CAL passengers can fly to Guatemala City, Atlanta, Cincinnati and other codeshare flights via Los Angeles, San Francisco or Anchorage. With codeshare cooperation, CAL’s operation in the US covers markets on the East Coast, West Coast, Midwest and South with total 14 routes.

Delta also placed its codes on China Airlines flights from Anchorage, Honolulu, Los Angeles, New York (JFK) and San Francisco to Taipei, and onward to South East Asia including Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Chiang Mai and Penang, etc. The expansion of the codeshare cooperation means that more CAL and Delta passengers traveling from the U.S. to Asia, or from Taiwan to the U.S., can enjoy more efficient and seamless connections and services.

In addition to Delta, China Airlines also has code-share cooperation with Alitalia, Thai Airways, Korean Air, Garuda Indonesia, Vietnam Airlines, Czech Airlines and Deutsche Bahn German Rail System.
