Bali installs new security system
THE BALI Hotels Association (BHA), an association of over 100 star-rated hotels on the island, has partnered with the Integrated Police Radio Community Bali (IPRC) to further improve security measures at the resort destination.
IPRC is a relatively new initiative, linking the public via VHF radio to the police. The system is geared to provide reliable communications during emergencies as well as better access to regular police assistance.
The IPRC enables its members to link to the POLSEK Kuta police office around the clock to provide situation updates, assist police in anticipating problems before they arise, track suspicious persons, and exchange security- and safety-related information without delays throughout southern Bali.
The public-private partnership initiative was started after last year's Jakarta bombings with initial equipment such as antennas and base stations donated by the BHA. The system is managed by IPRC, in cooperation with POLSEK Kuta.
