Asian consumers are keen to travel: MasterCard survey

Conducted among 10,503 consumers from 24 markets between March 15 and April 12, the study found that Hong Kong (56 per cent of respondents), Singapore (48 per cent) and New Zealand (40 per cent) boasted the highest number of respondents looking to travel abroad in the next six months.

Some 86 per cent of respondents in Asia-Pacific who plan to spend on travel in the next six months have voted in favour of intraregional travel, and Japan, Australia, China and Hong Kong have emerged top favourite destinations for travellers in Asia-Pacific.

Of the 24 markets surveyed, respondents in Kuwait (71 per cent) topped the list of consumers planning trips abroad, followed by Hong Kong (56 per cent), UAE (52 per cent), Singapore (48 per cent) and New Zealand (40 per cent).
