Petaling Street

Located in the centre of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown, Petaling Street boasts a lively atmosphere. In the night market, there’s a wide variety of goods up for purchase, from souvenirs and clothing to an incredible amount of authentic food. Many of the locals come here for Chinese cuisine, including beef noodles, charcoal-cooked stir fry and Cantonese porridge.
 

Atmosphere 360 Revolving Restaurant

Set one floor above Menara KL’s Tower, Atmosphere 360 is a revolving restaurantthat sits over 276 metreshigh. You’ll always get a great view of Kuala Lumpur’s city centre, as every table is set around the full-length windows around the restaurant. Atmosphere 360’s food comprises of a buffet spread, including appetisers, main courses and desserts.The menu changes weekly, but always includes Chinese and local favourites, as well as a few western dishes. With choices ranging fromCaesar salads and stir-fried venison to Malaysian curries and chocolate fudge cakes, you’re sure to find a dish you’ll love.
 

Banana Leaf Rice Restaurants

A number of restaurants in Kuala Lumpur put a unique spin on standard crockery and serve up bounties of curries and other rice dishes on banana leaves. One such restaurant, called KL City Restaurant, takes pride in Indian-inspired dishes, with homemade biryani being a popular favourite among locals and tourists.
 

The Lunar Bar

Enjoy friendly sophistication at the city’s rooftop bar, Lunar Bar. With 360-degree views of the city and the renowned Petronas Twin Towers, Lunar Bar features an alfresco lounge areaand a swimming pool and bar on the lower level, as well as an indoor restaurant on the topdeck. At night, the pool throws a golden glow and the entire bar is filled with warm lighting and light background music. The Lunar Bar menu includes appetisers, salads, soups and à la carte mains both beside the pool or upstairs in the restaurant. The mixed grill platter is a popular choiceand includes chicken liver parfait, beef tenderloin and homemade sausage and prawns.
 

Chow Kit ‘Wet Market’

If you’re after an authentic Asian experience, pay a visit to the busy, yet vibrant Chow Kit market. Located at the nothern end of JalanTuanku Abdul Rahman, the market offers an abundance of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and poultry. And as the name suggests, the market floor is wet from the stall owners constantly washing their foods and floors. Try and pay a visit early in the morning for the best range of produce.
